Introduction:
Elden Ring is long and beautiful journey with an enormous variety of weapons and gear. Despite the countless outstanding item, one of our all time favorite is definitely the Royal Remains Helm. The small details, the layers of decaying materials all over its surface, the ruby gem at its top and of course, the mysterious background are made it for our go to choice over each playthrough. After finishing the game, there was no question left, we simply had to make it!
Materials and Processing:
The Royal Remains Mask was made from high quality PLA filament, with a precision 3D printer. The mask itself has a reinforced inner structure and a shape that fits perfectly for an adult face. After the printing, it went through a careful sanding and assembling process before it got the base colors. We’ve developed a special finishing technique to achieve that cast iron like look, all over its frame and at the small left over metal fragments. The bone parts required an exceptional treatment as well, with multiple shades and layers of white, yellow, light brown paints and washes. Through the final steps, we added our own fine details, handpainted the decaying leather imitation, the scratches and the rusted elements. As always, our main goal was to made it as real and authentic as possible. No detail is too small, if this mask could talk, it would definitely has an ancient story to tell…
The mask itself is a one piece, 1:1 – true to size replica of the original.
